I've got into the habit of spraying colour swatches like these when I get some new paints, so that I can see what the colour is actually like, and to record the RAL numbers and vallejo's own designations. That is a great set of paint chips you have there. I like the fact that they are made from the actual colors provided by Vallejo and cross referenced with the German RAL designations. |

Thanks for the link to to this work, Tango. The original site is so good at pointing out that factory fresh is so different from what UV light, sand blasting and shortage of paint supplies can mean. Not to mention "scale effect", which cannot be exaggerated. I could paint HMS Hood in the genuine paint APC (I forget the next three numbers), if I could find an unopened tin, on a 1/700 scale model and it would be far too dark. All detail would be lost. |
