Two units of French archers I painted a few years back, but have gone back to and improved a bit, because I wanted to redo the bows a lighter colour. This required rebasing.

The figs and the boards all look well done. Thanks for posting.

Fantastic painting. As with all the best figure painters, your figures have a look which defines them. A great inspiration.

That is a lovely representation of Les Francs Archers, well done!

@ Martyn K – Thank you very much, there are certainly better painters than me out there, but I'm very pleased if my collection has a cohesive look that 'defines them' as you say!

@ Herkybird – Thanks, actually these are not the francs-archers, but the archers of the ordonnance companies. I added some riding boots to a few of them to suggest they are well-equipped 'dismounted mounted' troops – there will be another unit like this next on the painting bench I'm looking forward to. I do have francs-archers as well, who are modelled as unenthusiastic foot-sloggers! I use have my ordonnance archers in shooting poses, preofessionals getting stuck in… whereas the francs-archers are in marching poses with many bows still unstrung and arrows in their bags. These will be getting a slight overhaul too in the near future!
