A couple of things I wanted to mention, in no particular order:

We've caught up on processing Supporting Memberships, but we had one odd case where we didn't get the usual notice from PayPal, so if we've somehow missed you, drop me a PM.

Editor Gwen is working reduced hours due to equipment problems. She does a lot of her work using her mobile phone, and someone took her fon and threw it… well, let's say it got wet. Not clear if this was harassment, or just one of the kids she takes care of. Either way, the fon needs to be repaired, so she's off for a while.

We've had some reports of people having difficulty accessing TMP due to browsers generating bogus 'security' alerts. (If you think about it, why would TMP need security? We don't process financial transaction on site.) We've heard good reports from people who have switched to alternate browsers, particularly DuckDuckGo.

But here's a new mystery: One user reports getting the bogus security warnings AND reports that sometimes he can't view some or all of the website graphics. I suspect that's another browser problem, but would be interested to hear if anyone has any ideas or has experienced the same thing.

With regard to the problem with posting new topics, that seems to be due to the new server. The problem is usually at peak hours of usage, but not always. The ultimate answer is a new server or new databases, but the immediate solution is to do some fine-tuning of our existing databases, which I am in progress working on.

Thanks for the update Bill, and thanks for doing all you are doing to keep this site up and running, I, for one really appreciate it!

Thank You!

Thank you. I appreciate the update.
Sometimes when I use my iPad I get the security alert and then have to navigate a couple screens to verify to the Safari browser that I do want to visit the unsecured site. Also, Safari does not always show every picture, especially the newest ones. No problems with using my laptop using whatever version of the Microsoft browser I have

Thanks for the update Bill. May I add two things?

1: I used Duck Duck Go search engine on the Brave Browser. Once you set the security shields on Brave to accept TMP, there's no problem. Brave by default automatically "shields up" on anything that comes across until you say "Yeah this is okay."

2: I have an Iphone 16 and when I try to access TMP from it on Safari, I get numerous "warning risky site"/security related messages before having to force the site to load.

3: The ice machine is making weird noises again. I'm okay with the "chunk chunk chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunk!" of ice and bones being broken up in it, but when it starts singing "You lost that loving feeling" at 2:30 in the morning, well….It's time to have a service technician come in.

I read somewhere that the EU has "banned" access to sites without the extra level of security. I don't know if this is true or even possible. Anyone know?

Exactly my situation too.
But, if you take payments for Supporting membership, then it involves online payment.
So, the upgraded security seems pretty valid.

I log in several times a day. Sometimes I lose all pictures simply going back to the Front Page after checking on an old thread.

Using Edge browser on Win 11. No problems.

Why did I have the image of Bill walking back and forth up the centre aisle with a whip while the drummer from the boat on Ben Hur speeds up the beat to the collective groan of a crew full of Philipinas working the oars???

Might be time to cut back on the meds a touch,,,.

That's processed on PayPal, not here.

I use Edge with Windows 10 and I sometimes get warnings that the site is not secure or that the site cannot be found. Refreshing usually clears it up.

"Site cannot be found" might be a bug with your VPN, if you are using one. I use NordVPN, which seems glitchy at times even at the most prominent websites.

After some checking it seems to me as though there are issues with your SSL certificate that create the following warning:

Unsupported protocol
The client and server don't support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite.

Tgerritsen Supporting Member of TMP25 Apr 2025 8:04 p.m. PST

Does Bill even have an SSL certificate? I thought the lack of such was the core of the issue? Or am I mistaken?
