This time it's some nice shiny hoplites:

I love it.

Nice, nothing like the charm of the old boys.

Thanks, but I feel we are in a shrinking minority.

I'd like to disagree….but you may be right in that regard because of the heavily animated and painter friendly sculpts that come out these days. People get attracted to them, I must admit I have bought quite a few multi-part plastics but don't like them. However, I think there are probably still quite a few aficionados. I find the plastics annoying to put together, and difficult to get the poses I want. I don't see every body of troops needing to be configured as if they were all doing uncoordinated yoga. For me, the difference between barbarians and trained troops is all I want to see. In that I mean same poses for trained and maybe a few different poses for untrained/barbarian. And no gluing together.
There are always plenty of old school for sale on evil bay, although prices are often overly optimistic. Also Minifigs and Hinchliffe must still be popular if they are being made.
It's the same with 15mm, mine are mostly old Minifigs and Mikes Models and I think old 15s are harder to find than 28s.

cheers
Jon

It would be nice if I'm wrong and you're right. I know what you mean about the "heavily animated" poses you get these days – it's hard to imagine they're all in the same body. For me, one of the fun things about older ranges is the need to modify them to get what you want – makes them unique to your collection and all the more beloved for the effort invested.

Old School "true 25mm" figures would rank up. Nothing better for hoplites or phalanx armies on WRG bases.

Absolutely agree.
