Using Empire V and have the following question:
French Inf ME not doing well. Lost several battalions in a regimental attack. The Average ME Ace was 10. In anticipation of a failure in a ME Determination Test I issued a Break-Off order.
The ME was forced to Retreat 16" with a addition 2 Fatigue Points and was Disordered. When does this movement take place?
I also failed to activate the Break-off order so the ME is no one land and unengaged but still on an Attack order!
Is it forced to advance back into engagement range and carry on the fight or can it ignore the Attack order and just hang around until the Break-off is activated and then next hour Rest & Rally.
What would you do?

It moves during grand tactical movement, after MEs with break off orders then they move with all other grand tactical movement. That would be their grand tactical movement for that hour. If they are not engaged they sit. In the next hour if they are still under attack orders they would have to advance.
