What is a good aircraft scale to go with this?

I would probably go with 1/1200.

where to buy?

Alnavco carries the Cap Aero aircraft model line. I'm not sure about their ongoing availability.

waterlineships.co.uk carries some as well.

There are likely some others, esp. from Europe.

1/1200 aircraft models are pretty fiddly. Consider 1/600 scale. They can be had from Tumbling Dice in the UK and Pico Armor in the US.

My WW2 ships are 1/4800 scale and I use 1/600 aircraft with them. Mainly TD but some Oddzial Osmy (Pico Armor). This blog compared the two makes a few years back.https://sixtwentyeight.blogspot.com/2016/05/1600-plane-comparison-tumbling-dice-and.html
