This is a little known (as in, basically, unknown in English) battle between the forces of Ungern-Sternberg and the Chinese.

Quite gameable. Small forces and manageable terrain.

If anyone can get me a decent topographic map of the area, I would be grateful. My interest in the Baron does not extend to shelling out for topographic maps of Mongolia.

Lots of good information. Sorry, can't help with a map.

That's part of what I have been working from Cuprum.

I've got period maps of Mongolia (even including ones in Latin alphabet) but I was looking for 1:100 000 topographic maps, if possible.

Incidentally, for those interested in the Baron, I have included another account of a battle on the same page as the original (https://pygmywars.com/rcw/history/china/china.html).

I can't offer a map in English, but perhaps these maps will interest you:

That first one is particularly good for my purposes Cuprum, thank you.

Obviously I'm not myself fussed about them being in Russian, but most of the visitors to my website find it more difficult.

Glad I could help.
