For those of us who missed Salute this year there is a forthcoming show I recently discovered is due this month, which might be of interest. It is the Wirral War-Con, 10-4pm, Saturday 26th April. Held at New Ferry Village Hall, Grove Street, New Ferry, Wirral, CH62 5AZ. Like most shows, besides games and miniatures, it also offers a bring and buy section so there could be some bargains and hard to find items available. I've not been before but have marked it down to visit, especially as, unlike most shows, it is not too far to travel from where I live, which makes a nice change.

Thanks, I live in that area.

Though there seems to be a preponderence of GW type stuff, and other things in shiny boxes!
Bolt Action is the only obvious historical thing I see.
That seems to reflect the nature of local groups or games shops that I see in searches in the area.
Wargaming is too wide a hobby to keep everyone happy.

I think they might be trying to offer some new things and it is not that far from where I live, well, compared to most shows. I think it might also be free entry, as well. They say, besides games, painting classes etc, there are many tables with a huge range of items to sell and, as I mentioned before, a bring and buy which offer lots of bargains. I hope so anyway.

I might well give it a go

Yes, I'm also hoping to go, along with some family members who are also interested.
