I am working on two projects for the Waterloo diorama at the moment. Frischermont farm and chateau is just off the Siborne model. It's really hard to know what it looked like because the building was pulled down in the 1960s. It is however possible to piece together the evidence and with these clues my father has got building. Here are the results:
I've also been modelling the area East of the main road between the crossroads and Mont St Jean. This consists of open wheat and ploughed fields:
Into this area I'm placing Dutch-Belgian light cavalry:
These figures are by Andre, and the rest of the brigade will follow soon. |

The detail of the lace on the Netherlands cavalry is superb. Go to the site and try magnifying the images to appreciate that. This must be the first ever detailed attempt to model Frischermont, so often ignored in the battle and with very little info as to its structure. It looks very defensible and, of course, in a relatively inaccessible spot for a French assault. |

As always, magnificent terrain and figures. Where are you going to find an aircraft hanger to display the finished battlefield? |
