As I got all volumes of the rare work of Friedrich Schirmer – the no. 1 researcher of the Hanoverian army – I digitized the first volume covering the period of 1631 to 1803 … just go to link and start the download-link. Although the book has the old German typeface some of the TMP-readers might benefit from the rich information about the Hanoverian army during the revolutionary wars … and the second volume will be the next download :-) Greetings from Berlin Markus Stein |

Very many thanks Markus, This is much appreciated. It is certainly an extremely useful addition to the work of Luis Heinrich Friedrich von Sichart's 5 volume work "Geschichte der Koniglich Hannoverschen Armee", Friedrich Schirmer's own articles (and by others) in Zeitschrift fur Heereskunde. Ian |

Yes indeed Ian – the Sichart is a good start, but for uniform questions Schirmer is much more reliable. The second volume contains many photos of original items which are lost during WW2. Greetings Markus Stein |
