Does anyone know of a company that makes a 28mm SYW French drummer that has a cross on the front and back of the uniform? I'm assuming it would look similar to the cross you see on the French Mousquetaires de la Garde, but without the red/yellow flames in the angles of the cross. I've searched on as many sites that I can find and didn't see anything, so I figured I would ask the group.
Again, this is for a 28mm figure.

I don't know of any 28mm figures like that, 18CG. If it's to simplify painting you could approach it another way:

Use thin modelling tape (eg Tamiya's 1/2 or 1 mm "kabuki" tape- link ) to form the cross- you could even pre-paint it- and then seal it on with varnish.

Alternatively paint the figure in the colour of the cross, use the tape as a mask and pull it off once you've finished painting.

Given the width of the drum strap, I would imagine a cross motif on the front and back of the uniform coat would be obscured and barely visible. But if it's important to you, you could make a cross out of Green Stuff, especially if it doesn't include the flames.

Another vote for Greenstuff; not difficult to make the cross in raised relief form. I do offer one such drummer though under the code WASF16 Gardes Francaise Command in my Jacdaw Miniatures Austrian Succession range. To be found on the Venture Miniatures site.

After reading your post more carefully, I will clarify that the drummer is not the Mousquetaires justacorps vest exactly but very heavily laced.

Wealdmaster,

Thank you for the information. Given there isn't a photo of that command group, it was hard for me to determine what the drummer figure would look like. I will give that one a try. Thanks again.

p.s. Failing that, I might just try my hand with some greenstuff, however, I've never used it before so it would be something completely 'different'.
