You were asked – TMP link

Do you play these Napoleonic rules by Sam Mustafa?

56% said "I've never played it"
10% said "I've never heard of this ruleset"
7% [TIE] said "I own it but haven't played it yet" OR "I play it from time to time" OR "not my genre"

yes

I think the actual answer is: 50 Napoleonics players would play 60 different rulesets with shockingly little overlap in who plays what.

You know Bill, with enough of these polls you can prove we don't play anything. Wouldn't that be bad for business?

I got into Napoleonics twice, with British, based on how I was assigned by the rules they used. I had no real interest. I just went along. Then I sold them.
The Napoleonic Guy in our group uses modified Empire. So, when he comes up in the rotation, we play modified Empire.
If he liked Blucher, we would play Blucher. It's entirely not up to me.
So, I said "NO".

I play Blucher regularly. However I don't regularly do TMP polls.

No I have not played it.

Blucher seems to be popular among the local gamers. They went 15mm with it and I decided to go 10mm. I also let my project languish and it hasn't been finished.

Blucher is one of the best "brigade level" games out there.

There is a perfect example of why people cant fin opponents or others to play with, if you found a group join them don't decide to swim up stream by selecting a different scale…lol! I've seen so many projects and group fail because all want to go in a different direction.

Played Blucher many times and it has good and bad as any rules do. I sold mine as Age of Eagles does it for me in 15mm

"if you found a group join them don't decide to swim up stream by selecting a different scale"

That's what irritated me about this new "epic scale" somewhere between current 15/18mm and 10mm. But some people with more time and resources than me have done. Good luck to them, but with 2mm, 3mm, 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 23mm, 25mm and 28mm (and probably others already available) I just didn't see the need for us to splinter our small hobby base even further.

Cheers,
John

PS. I have Blucher but have yet to play it.

I have played Blucher a couple of times. We were slightly nonplussed when the Umpire (the only expert on the Rules around the Table) announced that garrisons of Built Up Areas etc could not fire out of said BUA at anything.

Or did our Umpire get the wrong end of the Stick?
