HMGS-PACIFIC SOUTH-WEST is super excited to invite you to our Sand Wars 2025 Tabletop Gaming Convention on June 7th and 8th at American Legion Post 35 in Chandler, Arizona. This will be our fourth time gathering in AZ, and we've got a weekend full of gaming fun planned for all attendees!

Registering is easy with Table Top Events software and Stripe for secure payments. If you run into any issues, convention coordinators Harmon Ward and Javier Gardea are here to help:

Harmon Ward (in CA) hjw@pacbell.net

Javier Gardea (in AZ) dirtminiatures@gmail.com

Pre-register to have your badge ready for pickup at the registration desk when entering the Hall. If you don't already have one, just make a Table Top Events account, save your login info, and you're set for future conventions too.

We can't wait to see you for another weekend of exciting games spanning all genres from skirmish to Big Battle and all eras of Historical from Ancients to Ultra-Modern -- including naval and air combat -- to Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

Here's a link to the convention page on Table Top Events:

It's so refreshing to see a convention post that says something specific. Date, time and location for example.
The photos are wonderful and make me want to go there immediately. No-it's too far for me, thus the feelings of deep regret. Here's hope for your continued success.

I will be attending and running a Russian Front WWII Micro Armor game using the Mein Panzer rules by ODGW.

I attended last year and the turnout was very good. Here is hoping that this year will be even better.

Just happen to see this post…anyways, will be planning to come up from Tucson.

Are you guys looking for games to be run? I haven't clicked the link yet.

Thanks for posting!

redmist1122,

I'm very happy you saw this post, and YES -- we are most definitely LOOKING FOR GAMES TO BE RUN!!!

I'm not sure but it's possible the official membership emails with info on the upcoming Sand Wars convention haven't gone out yet. I will reach out to one of the Convention Directors and bring it to his attention tomorrow.

In the meantime, if you're a GM, I strongly encourage you to sign up and run one or more games. I firmly believe GMs are the most vital component of any and every successful wargaming convention. Without GMs there are no games, and without games there are no gamers. True, if you still have vendors, gamers can come as pure shoppers, but that's not the same thing.

Thanks for the response back!

I hope to get John and I up there…and even my oldest son…we all went to Historicon last year.

Oh, and maybe get into one of your epic games too.

I'm looking at running a Chain of Command game…pretty epic.

Greg!!! I didn't realize you were "redmist1122" until AFTER I replied to your comment. Should have checked your TMP ID first. Thanks for the compliment, which means a lot coming from you, one of the busiest GM's in the Southwest, if not the entire U.S.A!

I heard from John about your Historicon trip, which looked pretty epic itself. Unfortunately I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to make Sand Wars this year, but I really hope you can bring your Chain of Command game there.

Hey Ethan,
Oh mn, you put on some pretty epic games! I'm about 90% for sure on attending and running the CoC game.

Other than the trip home…our Odyssey…Historicon was phenomenal!
