…Talking about the "vision that has been haunting me for the past few days," Geller shared, "I see Doomsday — in the minutes after Iran unleashes a nuclear bomb. I know it is Iran because I can see their military personnel turning keys. I hear the Farsi language being spoken."…

Would you take this seriously?

TimePortal07 Apr 2025 10:20 p.m. PST

No, being a Cold War, hide under the desk, baby boomer, I have grown weary.
So many fortune tellers have missed the mark.
As I pointed out in another thread in the 1970-80s, many doomsday believing girls put off getting married. This was due to the Israel being created starting the count down.
There will be hard times always.

Uri Geller? Hilarious.

Several years ago I decided I was going to die on my 125th birthday, in bed, next to my wife, after a great birthday. We would both die quietly in our sleep, together.

If we were told the great meteor was on the way, my plan is to continue to live just like I still have 50 years left. Because maybe I do, or maybe I don't. And if I do have 50 years left, I don't want to waste one minute worrying about things I cannot control.

I would take out the army men and play with them on the last day, and spend time with the dog, and with my wife. And pray. Just like I do nearly every day.

Mike, I hope you & your good wife last, hale & hearty, even longer than that 125 years.

Your philosophy is admirable & I think you are completely right.

How come psychics never win the lotto?

John the OFM08 Apr 2025 2:41 a.m. PST

How does someone qualify as a "psychic"?
Are there courses at major universities?

The regime knows it can not survive without the ultimate deterrent

Who says?

Only as seriously as one can take this:

I once played poker with a deck of tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

(I stole this joke from Steven Wright)

If I knew that the meteor would smash into me tomorrow, I'd go on line and order the Texas Rangers, Comanches and Pirates I've been holding back on.

Choctaw08 Apr 2025 7:04 a.m. PST

John, get the Texas Rangers! They are excellent.

Replace Uri Geller with a CIA or think tank analyst coming to the same conclusion, is the advice valid?

There is a tendency these days to dismiss anything which doesn't fit a certain narrative by vilifying the source instead of looking at facts objectively and arguing for or against those facts.

Uri Geller may be a kook. Uri Geller may be right. Both statements can be true simultaneously. Or not. But to say Iran is not a threat because Uri Geller is a kook is illogical.

kiltboy08 Apr 2025 8:21 a.m. PST

But how is a vision a fact to be viewed objectively?

Perhaps he can take over the NSC.

No. If psychics were real, they'd make Warren Buffet look like an amateur yet I cannot think of one psychic multi-billionaire instead of many hustling bogus doomsdays or channeling your great grandmother.

Col Durnford Supporting Member of TMP08 Apr 2025 9:54 a.m. PST

It's always fun to throw surprise parties for psychics!

Grattan54 Supporting Member of TMP08 Apr 2025 10:01 a.m. PST

Nope. Have no belief in that stuff. Wait, I had a feeling as was going to say that…

Ask him who Aaron Rodgers is going to play for this season. I just hope it won't be my Steelers.

We all have been hearing about the end of the world from psychics for decades.

As already mentioned …

They want to impress me ? Give me the winning lottery numbers …

John the OFM08 Apr 2025 12:02 p.m. PST

Those who take him seriously will believe him. Those who have always dismissed him won't.

Do billionaires hide their psychic abilities well?

Do billionaires hide their psychic abilities well?

If they did, I would think Bezos and Gates could have gotten much better pre-nups and Zuckerberg could have purchased a far better personality.

All he has to do is psychically bend the keys remotely so that they don't work…

(He can do that, right? I mean, isn't that something he does? Armageddon averted…! ;-)
