Some more guns for the Waterloo in 20mm project. About 75 here, various 12pdrs and "six pounders" (actually 8 pdrs from Zvezda) and howitzers. The best of those last are metals from Hagen. I added trail handspikes, even though commonsense says they would be removed for usage in action. But they add some needed detail to the plain Esci/Italeri carriages. Dolphins on the howitzer barrels of course. The chains are mostly from a store that sells necklaces with white metal chains at £5.00 GBP for about 40cms. It is not Tiffany's.

I am now experimenting with removing the rear transom hole cap, and filling it in, for more convincing AnXI 6 pdrs. The barrels with too many reinforcing rings I can live with.

I now realise we already have more 12pdrs than did Napoleon at Waterloo (he had 36)

Very nice! I always look forward to seeing your projects, thanks for sharing!

Well, thanks for responding. It is much appreciated. I did these a week ago and sent photos to all in the modelling group for the project, but did not think they would be of interest here. They went in our postal system today and will look much better once based, crewed and supported with a massive train…but I have done three "batteries" now (Belgian, Brunswick and Imperial Guard and all HA to reduce the number of guns!) and swore….never again. In between much swearing actually.

They look really good, and even better en masse, and the Waterloo 20mm project is en masse on steroids. Don't listen to your modelling group there's always likely to be interest, and I reckon far more will take a look than ever bother to comment.

Very well done! I think the Emperor would be impressed.

The world is a better place for hobby nutters like you (and me I hope). Just fantastic. I cannot wait until you get the limbers and crew done.

An impressive array! Well done, as usual.

Lovely stuff, Liam, we are lucky to have work of this quality.

Arrived at Chez vous yesterday, ready for your return. Another sixty here beside me, all base coated. I have worked out how to eliminate the rear transom housing and the rest will look more like 6pdrs. Easy, and why did I not do it before? There will surely be future viewers who will spot an 8pdr at 100 yards and feel obliged to point out the anachronism.

The green works well I think. It is a spray of Warhammer Death Guard Green (God alone knows what determines these names). Perfect matt finish, but pricey. Then a wash with Agrax Earthshade and finally highlights with Vallejo Russian (ie Soviet) WWII Uniform Green. Black metallic fittings, brass gun barrels and off in the post again.

I love massive ranks of guns! Nice work.

Well the ranks are getting more massive.

Here is the grand total of what is actually another 65, a mixture of howitzers and "6pdrs".

Thanks

Annoying thing is this last effort, having learnt much, now represents the best work, with little extra effort.

Fantastic!!!!!

Rafa, From you, that means an awful lot.

I have tried to add detail (chains, handspikes, dolphins where missing) to what are actually very good models, but they are plastic 20mm or 1/72 and Zvezda are way better than Esci/Italeri. The latter really improve (as 6pdrs) with some detailing however. How I wish I had disguised the Zvezda 8pdrs as 6pdrs earlier. It is is so easy and convincing.

The sum total will definitely be more than Napoleon had at Waterloo (it might even beat the whole Armee du Nord) but at least the howitzers and 6pdrs can be used by the Netherlands without repainting.
