I am surprised the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act has not been linked.

"ounce again", 35?

No, we use the metric system so it'd be "kilo again."

The last time the US fought a war without allies was the Spanish-American War. So, it looks like you chaps will be playing with yourselves OUNCE (sic) again."

One interesting thing about the post tariff world is the Intractables & apologists are notably quiet on the forum.

There's a bit of weak "sez you" stuff but some are absent & the rest just going through the motions.

I believe they know what trouble they're in & it's subdued them.

Please do NOT think I get any pleasure out of this. The world I grew up in with American Exceptionalism & Leadership seems to be in grave danger of ending.

What will replace it may well be worse. All I know is that the Chinese & the Russians must be smiling broadly since April 2nd.

Thanks for the link, McKinstry.

Ominous stuff.

Come on Donald, come up with your own lines. 😉

You'll probably want to use more than an ounce, probably more like a "pound". But it is not an area I'm experienced in, nor any sort of expert. I will bow to your expertise in this one subject. 🙂

In the mean time, do try not to go blind.

See my comment on the lack of firepower of the Usual Suspects I made above.

You certainly do get to read some supercilious posts on The Miniatures Page.

So much for the international brotherhood of tabletop miniature wargaming.

The Cuban and Filipino insurgents would like a word.

Weren't things a bit tense in Manila Bay between Dewey's squadron and a German one right after the battle? I seem to recall a British squadron helping to tone things down but I cannot remember any details.

In the end, politicians, on all sides, will spin the story and declare victory
