Are there any ACW rule sets that are true skirmish with one figure equaling one man? Not unit based skirmish rules. |

Ganesha Games '61-'65 is a skirmish game where you command a company at 1 to 1 scale so anything from 40 to 100 figures. I also believe that Brother Against Brother was 1 to 1 scale. Those are the only ones that I know of, but probably a few more out there. Hope this helps. Tom D |

My own 'State of War' rules are 1:1, and are free to download from this link Not sure if this is what you are looking for though. |

Brother Against Brother (hard to find) and Sharpe's Practice fit the bill. |

Not ACW specific, but I'd recommend Fistful of Lead's Horse and Musket; works best at 5-8 or so figures a side…. One of the best "tool kit" games on the market. |

Legends of the Old West would also work. Just issue everyone a muzzle loader….but that's for players to command relatively small numbers of figures – say 5-10. |

We still use the 1984 skirmish rules titled Glory. We later did a fast play version using hex maps and the Standad games maps. |

Another recommendation for Fistful of Lead, we've done a few ACW games with those. |
