You post about wargaming and history on this site and you would be lucky to get half a dozen responses. You post about current US politics and you get 200. Perhaps the site needs a name change to better advertise what it's about?

This board has become a de facto zone for voicing concerns about the history being made. It is highly partisan and far beyond the rules. But the politics stay pretty much in place here…and it does still discuss modern military matters.

That said, it's not that miniatures don't matter, the Great Divide is now so deep that there are not many places to escape it. In general TMP is such a place, except for this board, like a pressure valve so we don't explode.

Again … how do you handle 20 million illegal aliens with due process? The same due process that US citizens are granted ? Again 20 million ??!?

There are not 20 million illegals here. Best estimates by a variety of sources and looking at all variables is around 11-12 million. Far too many.

It's the same usual suspects for either camp arguing back and forth. I have been on this site for decades. I don't see opinions change whether it is the Blue Fez or Ultramodern Warfare just people trying to feel smart and enlightened as they regurgitate talking points from their chosen news sources. I suppose the clicks are good for business if nothing else.

Some of us live and work in the arenas that you love to debate. I'm glad that you all have your pressure valve, this site can use the couple of hundred posts injected into it as the miniatures topics get neglected.

Prince, nothing here is preventing anyone from using the other boards. I would like to feel a whole lot smarter, but coming to this board is not the place for that.

Most of us are endlessly repeating ourselves with political arguments. But in here have also been some great discussions on the ongoing wars of today, as well as things like assessment of the Chinese military and invasion of Taiwan, tactical developments in Ukraine, evolving weapons there, and the conflict in the Middle East.

On the other hand, this still has almost nothing to do with gaming or miniatures, maybe it will someday. But in the meantime, I think this board is insulated enough from the rest of TMP to easily avoid it.

I have worked for the government in one of the arenas. Often I find that many things presented here are far different than what I experienced. It's a window into a different reality for me. I am not a social media user. Despite some of the anger expressed here, it mostly remains a comfortable place to debate.

You are not wrong, however, and I stand by whatever Bill allows. If this board disappeared today..so be it.

Yes, politics or personal views are part of this board. For me, I find it a way to let off some steam and move on. I also don't hold anything against anyone who posting things I don't agree with with. Everyone is fairly polite and just giving their views. All we need is a few beers, a game on the TV and this would be a good bar discussion. "If they would just listen to me all the problems in the world would be solved! Bartender another round!"

The say he got sent to El Salvador because he was on a list of people being considered for that path, and his name was bumped into the active list. But he was still going to be deported, he's not some happy go-lucky soccer Dad just minding his own business, that's pure spin.

In a timely and efficient manner. Letting them go into the US interior after barely vetting within a few day. And telling to come back for a hearing 5 years from now violates all of that you know.

Where was this furor over "free speech" as non-Leftists had their speech abrogated by the Left with a web of "hate speech" and "microaggression" codes on campuses?
