I'm really getting frustrated by how long it takes to post a new article on TmP boards. Today I've tried to post an article on how to make a Roman arch and my screen times out after several minutes and I lose my post. Even when things are working here it still takes about two minutes for a post "to take" . Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Does it only happen when the post includes pictures? Why is it that other similar forums do not have this issue. I don't know what else to say |

I have the same problem, Jim.
Dear Editor told me that the new server is inadequate, and times out. 🤷
Occasionally, I'm able to do it after 2 tries.
The Gringo40s thread on Consumer Affairs took me 5 tries.
The "Coyote v Acme" only 2 tries.
So, until Bill straightens out the server (?) it'll be a problem. 🤷 PS. I didn't have any photos to attach. |

As the OFM has said, it appears the new server is under-powered compared to our previous server. This causes some processes to take a long time to complete, and also causes some processes to 'stutter' – that is, to run, fail, run again, etc. (Causing duplicate posts or topics.) Note that it is generally easier to post new topics when the server is less busy (i.e., in the evening). It has nothing to do with photos. The only real solution is to transfer to another new server. It might be possible to make some changes in code or database design to reduce the problem, but that would take time. |

I ran into the same on Sunday this week. Switched over to a different Internet browser (from Firefox to Opera in this case) and the performance was far better. Since I rarely start new topics, it's no definitive troubleshooting but it's worth experimenting with a different browser to gauge different results. |

I learned to Copy/Paste my post text, with formatting characters/code, to Notepad… Just in case. I've had to re-type too many posts, too many times. I also post similar topics on other forums. Again, Copy/Paste from Notepad, tweaking the format command characters, as necessary. Cheers! |

While looking at solutions, please consider addressing the security certificate issue as well. It finally caught up with me with the latest IOS software update, and now TMP is littered with little blue boxes with white question marks. It's really distracting. Thanks |
