It was one of those days when my dice could do no wrong and my opponents did nothing but… link |

Beautiful miniatures. They look like they just marched off the pages of a Grant book. Are these plastic or metal? "Charge" is my favorite hobby-related book, and I wish I had chosen to go this route using SSM's when I returned to painting after a long hiatus. Thank you for sharing. |

Beautiful, a truly classic, old school Wargame. |

Thanks. I was inspired by the Charge rules and visually by CS Grant's The Wargame. The figures are metal and part of the War of Austrian Succession (WAS) line. These were cast from masters I made by modifying figures from the original SSM and getting them cast by Peter Johnstone who owned SSM back then. The range has since been sold to Don Hauser of Wee Wolf Miniatures in the States. He is intending to bring them back into production (I want a few more for a Fontenoy refight). Please don't hassle him as he has a day job that is sucking up all his time as it is heavily affected by the current government-led shake up. When the figures become available it's s not too late to do something like this as they are very quick and easy to paint; I already did a post on how I do it: link |

That's good news, I thought it was only the FPW being brought back. Am I right that Jacklex have also ceased? |

Yes, Mark, who ran Jacklex has stopped trading; he was a one-man band keeping the range going because he loved the hobby rather than as a professional business venture. He will be missed. Hopefully someone might buy the moulds from him and re-start the business. Fingers crossed. |

A bit of a turnaround from the last game, Billy. Good AAR and photos, mate, and a direct hit on my nostalgia centre. |

Thanks Dal, it was always a dream of mine to have armies like those in 'The Wargame'. |
