You were asked – TMP link

Do you use an airbrush? Have you tried it? Is it worth the extra expense? Never go back to brush painting?

I wonder how many of us don't use a Hairbrush!

I admire those who have this skill, tho!

But it's not something I'd need (or have the time to learn).

Lol, Herkybird, I have to as it has been over 2 years since my last haircut. I just let it grow out after the chemo made it fall out. As for the topic – I have never used an airbrush. I actually enjoy using a paintbrush.

Airbrush on figure miniatures almost never. Now 20mm tanks In batches, or airplanes, or 1/700 ships, is a common event. So much more surface area to cover.

I don't use a hairbrush as i shave my head. I don't use an airbrush as I don't paint vehicles, airplanes or ships… okay, a few ships… isn't that what airbrushes are for?

You're right! I don't!
How did you know???

It's quicker to use a brush than drag out all the airbrush stuff, set it up, get it to work properly, take it apart again, and clean it (and my $5 USD Made-in-China airbrush works better than my $150 USD Paasche…)

Interesting. I have an air brush, which I seldom use. In the past, I haven't used it so much for vehicles, planes, and ships as for horses.

I have one, haven't used it yet, but intend to once my cellar space exits the deep freeze it's currently in.

If there was a descent acrylic primer I would use it all the time. As of now I use an airbrush to do horses and some khaki uniforms.

Oh, Herky, why did you have to say that? Now there will be another one.

I haven't used an airbrush since the 1970s. A waste of time on wargaming stuff unless you are into larger scales. I was a modeller before I was a wargamer.

I have an airbrush which I use regularly as a spray can replacement, with a spray hood. No spray can fumes for me. Can spray any color I have.

Don't use it for details.
