Thanks for posting this I'm a sucker for old wrecks. What interests me about the whole affair is in what way was HMS Captain superior to HMS Monarch, same guns, roughly same armour, same limited field of fire, maybe half a knot of extra speed. Who did Coles know that provided the influence.
