Thinking of putting together a Spartan and Athenian army for Brasidas's campaigns in the north during the Peloponnesian War. When do we think the Thracians transitioned from their traditional dress to the Hellenistic Style? Around 420ish could you have lowland Thracians in Hellenistic and highland Thracians looking more old school?

Probably. Look at the Aleksandrovo tomb paintings, early 4th century:

It's not hard to envisage a degree of Hellenisation earlier. _Not_ the ribbed oval thyreos shield, though, as that is hard to justify before the Galatian incursions, so be careful what figures you pick.

Brilliant, thanks so much GurKhan

My personal almost entirely arbitrary cutoff point for the more tribal Thracians is the end of the Peloponnesian War, just so it can coincide with the changes in Greek warfare (more cavalry and skirmishers, lighter equipment). I glanced over my Osprey book on the Thracians and in art dated to 400 BC the infantry are still tribal looking but the cavalry look somewhat more Hellenized. Maybe have moreso elite infantry and cavalry wearing the latest Greek fashions (with boots) with the skirmishers still hooded with their colorful cloaks?

I really wish Victrix came out with a Thracian set…

Thanks FilsduPoitou. Just waiting on the Osprey Thracian book to be delivered. I agree, hoping that Victrix will do a set but toying with mixing their Dacians and Greek Peltasts.
