I ordered some ACW horse holders and artilleryman a few weeks back and they arrived here at my place in New Zealand today! Beautiful, crisp new old fashioned Hinchliffe. I guess the horse holder moulds were never hammered in the old days so they are really crisp and very well made.

Will definitely order again from hinchliffemodels.co.uk

Hope you get them on a table soon.

I have a bunch more Confederate cavalry to paint so I will. On a bit of a roll at the moment. Churning out units for my Rebs. Done 15 infantry regts, 4 cav regts (with dismounted and horse holders), 2 batteries and a bunch of commnd/generals – in three months. All 28mm.

Nice to know that they're back.

Oh yeah – 95% metals. Plastics mixed in with a few units with matching figures (Old GLory 2nd Edition mix perfectly with the original Perry Plastic box set) and the plastic cavalry fits in well with the big bag of Foundry Reb cavalry I got in a trade – so I have used them to give me a few more regiments of cavalry (planning on 8 regiments of Reb Cavalry). I still have six regiments of UNion cav to paint. .

It is good to hear the old guys are still soldiering on. I think their artillery, limbers and wagons are as good as any in the market today.

I have just sent off for some ECW and Ancient figures I had when I had armies of Hinchliffe figures. I will paint them soon for old times sake!
The only sad thing is Lancashire games who sell them don't have the little blue Hinchliffe figures boxes they used to come in!!!!

@Herkybird – I've also indulged and have some on my blog. I also miss the little blue boxes with the figures packed in with purple tissue paper. Those were the days… maybe?

I liked the Boxes very useful, but a cost and time plus storaage making them inpractical – sorry

Never mind! – the figures are still as iconic as I remember them!

Hi. I reached out twice to Hinchliffe UK regarding a mystery mounted 19th Century Colonial personality figure but they never replied. I understand they are busy but they don't post images of all their figures and I would not know what I'm buying. The figure in question could be Tradition of London Turkish Cavalry figure (SKU-CT2) but it would be nice to know. Did Hinchliffe produce more figures than was it shown on the website and old catalogues?
