A new unit – this time some German mercenaries in Burgundian service. For the War of Burgundian Succession.

Very nice. Who made the figures?

Charlie09 Mar 2025 3:25 p.m. PST

They are a mix, mostly of Perry and Steel Fist – also two from Eureka, one Front Rank, one Warsteel 3D print, and a few privately commissioned ones. With lots of head and weapon swaps between manufacturers.

Great looking unit. Should be a scare into the opposition.

Very well-done figures. They look the part.

Is there anything that makes them specifically German, or could they be mercenaries from any part of Western Europe?

Nice, seems on the backside of the hose. Always nicely done, I have always liked his choice of colors and tones.

@Shardik
I gave them lots of German and Swiss style equipment
- German sallets and kettle hats
- The weapons are mostly halberds and spears (plus two glaives).
- Several of them have Swiss-style feathers and such.
- Two of them have Swiss basilard daggers/short swords.
- I made sure not to use any bodies with brigandines, which I understand were not seen so much in the German lands. Likewise with padded jacks, though if you look closely the crossbowman has got one under his coat. So protection is all mail and plate.

These are things which overall give them a German and/or Swiss feel, or at least as I see it.

They could well be used as generic Burgundians or other western Europeans, but I'm hoping their appearance has a strong Germanic flavour.

Very nice Charlie. I do like kettle helmets.
