A good friend of mine has bought a slew of figures for Vietnam. I can't say I'm thrilled but, in all things, I'm a supportive person. Anyway, after I, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, explained how Jane Fonda won the war for the VC, he expressed a desire for a 15mm figure of her. I'd like to get it for him. Anything like this exist? |

In 15mm any dumb blonde figure will do. |

Rather broad – can you recommend a specific "broad"? |

You mean in her classic treason pose, or anything at all? I suppose any female figure would suffice. Peter Pig makes 15mm NVA female medics which would work. |

Thanks – I've found PP & looked at their catalogue. Not bad.. Vietnam is not a period I have any desire to cover but I will admit the Little Wars TV episodes on Vietnam were interesting. |

Perhaps one of Irregular Miniatures finely detailed 15mm pigs would work. |

Interesting idea. Countless on line images of the famous (infamous) manning of the AA gun. Not sure many would want to recreate that, but, with surrounding crew all "spontaneously" posed, could be a striking model!

and if they did, can anyone identify the gun? I have today sought out every image of the event, but the gun is poorly shown. There is a photo of her standing behind a barrel in a dugout that looks bit big for a 37mm but,,, for obvious reasons the NVA concentrated on capturing her image, clowning around and pulling silly faces in an "anti-war" gesture, yet sitting on an AA gun |

Drop the photo in an image-to-STL app, 3D print the result, then stand back from the deluge of AI-hate. Just kidding, that would work terribly. And the leg warmers were ten years in the future. |

It's funny how treason was a thing 50 years ago, but not now. Times really do change. |

But she looked so happy in those pictures! |

She was possibly a bit foolish to do what she did but I know all you Yanks have, over the passage of time, let bygones be bygones….. Seriously, though, if I can get and paint a suitable figure it'll be a bit of a laugh. |

Northstar Miniatures Africa! does a line of animals – perhaps you can find a rat. |

It seems every war has its female villain: Mata Hari, Tokyo Rose… |

I recall reading that years later she regretted doing that stunt. I agree any 15mm female figure should work. Joe |

I believe she genuinely does. Not just because of what it did to her reputation (did not seem to destroy her subsequent career, though) but maybe she realised that campaigning on an anti-war platform is not enhanced by sitting on an AA gun platform. The NVA were (at the very least) as much the "Baby-killers" label as then attached to US forces. She was an idiot, as were many of us back then, when we worshipped a guy in a beret, because he looked good in that one photo (OK, in several for a few weeks and then cut his hair). If I had been a US pilot imprisoned in North Vietnam I would find it hard to forgive her (funnily enough I would bet they would not now give a damn). It is folk back home now abed (to paraphrase the Bard) who still cannot forgive her. My lot believes in Forgiveness of Sins after an Act of Contrition, but finally a Penance. I wonder, is there any evidence that she ever did anything for vets, POWS, even maimed Vietnamese civilians in need? There may well be, that would show contrition. |

I know this won't help, but I converted a RAFM female martial artist into a reasonable American communist traitor about ten years ago. I modified a Tamiya American helmet into a helmet of a Soviet pattern. The clothing resembled an Ao Ba Ba and as she pointed out downed American airmen with one arm, (a special ability the character has in a game), with the other arm she sported a North Vietnamese flag on a bamboo pole. White top, black pajama bottoms and white shoes. Helmet in OD green. |

Deadhead, they still give a damn. |
