With only 3 armies left…what's next?

All 3 would probably be out by the end of the year/just into next year.

Then what?

Too soon for overhauls.

Expand the current armies??

With what? Old figures or new? Anything would likely have to be in the rules already, for now at least.

More new armies??

A new game/period? With more older armies brought back? Seems unlikely.

Thoughts?

A nice resource, but it comes after the fact, and doesn't say what's coming up very far ahead.

I am thinking we may end up seeing many more NEW armies, as opposed to rereleased armies.

Skaven are now heavily in AOS, so are probably out for forseeable future.

Now GW have TOW up and running for minimal cost and it seems successful, now it the time to start making money.

"Old" models "cry", models that you already have or can be bought second hand are not making GW money.

Brand new models for a now successful game can make GW money.

No surprise it appears the next release, after beastmen and woodies, is likely a brand new army.

Will it use existing empire bits? Maybe, but there will likely be mostly, if not all new.

I feel that will path the way going forward.

Personally I'd like to see a 4th?? Ex lizardmen army come back, before they became dinosaur men.

However, it's more likely they may do an earlier slann army. Perhaps with slann infantry, maybe skinks and Saurus, but I'm just making it up.

Skaven may end up being more some nighthaunts style creepys in the dark. Maybe looking like Jawas, or night goblins.

That way, fans get their armies back, but have to buy new figures as well. Everyone is, sort of, happy.

Did GW have some kind of birdmen at one point in time?

I think that you may be correct in that you get some of your figures back, but, of course, will have to buy new boxes/packs of whatever leaders, support, and war machines that they come up with.

It's exciting to think about new troops that could appear in TOW like the surprise challenges in geometry dash lite that could really freshen up the game and attract more players

Perhaps supplements that could provide material for all the already released forces? Recycling old ideas, some possibilities could include the following.

1.) Rules supplement on fortresses and castles, and how to siege and assault them (as per 1998 version of Warhammer Siege). This could then be accompanied by the release of a castle set (the old plastic castle actually appears in the rulebook itself), as well as other siege paraphernalia like siege towers, battering rams, ladders, pots of boiling oil (or hot oxtail soup) etc.

2.) Campaign supplement covering various types of campaigns. Perhaps accompanied by a re-release of the plastic Mighty Empires tiles.

3.) Mercenaries and allies supplement covering various smaller groups that could be taken as support of the existing forces. Possible allied contingents could include e.g. Kislevites, Nipponese, fimir, hobgoblins or chaos dwarves. Mercenaries could include e.g. Tilean pikemen, ogre maneaters, halfling adventurers, brigands, dark elf corsairs, Arabyan cavalry etc. This could be accompanied by various re-releases of various classic figures, plus maybe some new sets or conversion sets for existing kits.
