Undoubtedly, many of you will know this "wheeze" – using plastic milk bottle caps to hold miniatures you're painting. For years, I'd hold a mini by its base when I was painting it. Difficult. I progressed onto gluing several figures onto an iced lolly stick. Awkward. But some years ago, I "discovered" the plastic milk cap. They're free, easily obtainable & perfect for use. The ridged sides are easily gripped. A blob of white glue holds the individual figure on & also comes off easily when done. There's not much of value you get for free – this is the rare example. |

I've tried that and it works. But I've started to using several figures mounted on larger wooden popsicle sticks. I like that I can work on multiple figs using same colors and not have to put down and pick up figures multiple times. |

Welcome to the club. I assume you're painting 25/28mm figures, otherwise lollipop sticks as suggested by pzivh43 is better for the reasons he gives for 15mm or smaller. |

I've used older & taller soda bottle caps for years now with 25/28mm figures. The newer caps aren't tall enough for me to get a good grip. Jim |

I paint everything on the bases that I play with. That certainly saves me a step or three. |

I tried soda bottle caps for a while, but went back to painting sticks. |

I use larger painting sticks too. Thanks. John |

I have started using pill bottles with blue tac to hold the figure – 28mm scale mostly. Been able to use the whole bottle gives you a handle. |

I just started using soda bottle caps. They work for me. |

I've also started using pill bottles -- a sign of old age, I guess. Some pill bottle caps have screws on both sides, so you can use the bottle to protect the miniature when moving it. |

For 15mm and 20mm I have used a painters stirring stick you get free with a gallon of paint. You can get a dozen or so on them. Problem I have now is the stick with figures gets a bit heavy with time. |

OH, good idea. Maybe saw it in half to reduce number of figures and weight? |

Popsicle/craft sticks are good for me to hold figures. I use the tops of soda bottles to hold the paint. |

I use milk container lids for mixing paints! |

Tongue depressors work for me. |

I've got several tongue depressor mounted figures, base mounted AND bottle cap mounted guys. No, I've never been diagnosed with ADHD. |

Nearly all my recent work is on individual bases so I don't use any holder at all, just the washer or slotta base. I only use a short length of lolly stick for models that will go on a multi figure base. It's just big enough so they stand up – not a holder at all, really. |
