My friend Rick dropped by the shop to play test a Cold War game with me. I'm planning on running a huge game this summer, with 300-400 Soviet tanks attacking NATO forces trying to hold back the Red Tide. I'm going to use Team Yankee as a base for the rules, but streamlined quite a bit to handle the large forces involved.

I also am using a Base 6 chart in place of buckets of dice. (You roll a red d6 and a white d6 and read them like decimal dice – the chart gives you the number of successes). The tank on tank part of the game works just fine. I had 50 Soviet tanks attacking 30 or so US tanks and we fought to a decision in about 2 hours or so. I took a bunch of notes – mostly about terrain.

The next step is to add in infantry and see if the game still flows the way I need it to.

Are the tanks mounted 10 to a base, or are they just sitting in terrain?

What's the scale?

Looks like micro or 3mm. Can't tell

It looks like it will be a very interesting game with lots of vehicles in play all at once.

These are all 6mm tanks / micro armor. I used movement trays to speed things up (they are designed for washer mounted troops). I'll make more trays without the "blank spots" for this game. Ditto on the town bases.
