Yes they were mostly formed from single bns. that were available in theatre. They would have regular organization. Some of the Nafziger O.B.s list the component Bns. |

Legere flank companies for Line units was based on the height of the soldier. Not valor or experience. In 1813-14 I would rate them the same as center companies. |

You may be thinking of the 134th-150th regiments, which were formed in 1813 and IIRC weren't given elite companies until after they acquitted themselves in battle. As mentioned, the provisional regiments were formed using battalions that weren't formed in time for the spring campaign. |
