So I'm working on building armies for Arab Israeli wars, starting with 48 and 56. BUt I want to think ahead to 67 and 73 in my infantry planning.

The only choice I think I have is to use 3rd World Regular in GHQ. Is that best choice?

I use H&R Warsaw Pact infantry painted with sand coloured uniforms.

The Egyptians used Warsaw Pact equipment, AKs, helmets etc, so makes sense.

For Israelis I use WW2 US infantry including painted the same. I use Adler infantry as they're really good and are now produced by H&R as Leon Adler has just retired.

Hi Dan

I am currently building an Egyptian Army for using with Fistful of TOWs 3.

GHQ does not currently make either Arab (Egyptian and Syrian) or Israeli Infantry in the time period 1976-73.

For my Egyptians, I decided to use GHQ Modern Russians ca. 1990. While maybe not perfect, they are reasonably close in 6mm. They also have Saggers in the new weapons pack for 1973.

For Israelis, I am not sure how close the Third World Regulars really are. I am considering going with H&R for those and maybe buy a few sample packs to check them out. I have asked GHQ about doing earlier Israelis from 1967-73 but they don't seem to be making much infantry of any kind these days.

I was thinking about using 3rd world regulars for Egyptian Syrian. I haven't even thought about 73 wars yets.

The H&R israelis are old molds. I have some of that infantry. It's ok, but not a lot of positions of troops. So so for todays standards.

I was thinking of using IDF GHQ for Israeili, since I don't really have tanks yet to support 67 and 73. And I was thinking of using Spearhead for 67/73 when and if I get to it.

GHQ 3rd world regulars are great for Iranians but not for Egyptians or Syrians. Like Captain Pete I use Soviets for Arabs- AKs and RPGs.

In common with other posters, I just use Soviet infantry as Egyptians and Syrians, although for some odd reason I used Mainforce for the AiW. I usually go with H&R.

For 1948, British kit would be used by most parties. You get more US kit with Israelis as time goes on and more Soviet kit for the Arabs.
