A new one, 1st Saturday in May. Quoting the e-mail from Paul Wenzel, the organizer:
3 May 2025 Doors open at 8:30AM, gaming from 9AM to 11PM
at the Roosevelt Room of the Fort Harrison Inn 5830 North Post Road Indianapolis, IN 46216
Admission is $20 USD and includes all-day gaming, coffee, and water.
There will be six "game areas" of 10 feet by 22 feet each. Each area will have 4 of the standard 30-inch X 6-foot banquet tables. Game masters will be able to get into the room as early as 0730 to set up. I would like to open the doors by 0830 and begin gaming about 0900. Since we have the room all day, hopefully we can get in to rounds of games. We have to be "quiet" after 2200 and vacate the space no later than midnight.

As of now, we have the following games planned:
Carl & Robert – Column Line and Square III
Jeff – General d'Armee II
Chris, John, & Kieth – Napoleon's Battles 3rd Edition with Local House Rules.
I may do another NB table if I can find a volunteer to man the sign-in table.

No outside food or drink is allowed. There are plenty of resturants near by.
The Fort Harrison Inn has guest rooms available. Reservations can be made on line.

If you live within range, now's your chance: come this year to be sure there will be a convention next year. If you're part of a group, this is you opportunity to recruit and show the rest of us how Napoleonics should be done.

See you there!

I am putting together a Russian division for 1812 onwards and was wondering how many battalions in a brigade of 2 regiments?

Two battalions per regiment on field. So four battalions per brigade.

Seems the bug is back. Thank you Sho Boki

Four is the safe bet, but you sometimes find OoB with a brigade/s with less than four battalions. For a generic force, go with four battalions.

2 Regiments per Brigade, 2 musketeers and 1 Jager in a division. 2 light batteries and 1 position in a division. OOB at Borodino are almost all consistent with this. Afterwards battalions got amalgamation into 1 but suggest wouldn't build units that way.

Notes on employment:

Imperial infantry division:
- Shooting line: Jaeger brigade

- First heavy line: 6lb gun pair – Infantry brigade – 6lb gun
pair
- – Reserve: 12lb unicorn pair
- Second heavy line: 6lb gun pair – Infantry brigade – 6lb gun pair
- – Reserve: 12lb unicorn pair

The gun/howitzer pairs are crewed by artillerists (not infantry). The unicorns would be deployed to whichever flank was threatened and used as giant shotguns.

At first – c1812 – brigades have two regiments each of two battalions at strength.

Later c1813 – After strategic losses – Four weak battalions

Later c1814 – After much strategic loss – Two reasonable strength battalions

Most divisions had three artillery companies – usually one light company was deployed per above, one (heavy or horse) would be detached to the corps reserve, leaving the third for the division commander to use as required.

This last one might be split into two 6-gun half-batteries, or even into two 4-gun and one 4-howitzer platoons.
