All,
I've got a load of minis, humans and beasties. I've got terrain and scenery. What I haven't got is the drive to play! Are there any good solo engines for fantasy adventures? Not interested in battles.

Sellswords and Spellsingers by Ganesha Games, is a good solo fantasy miniatures game.

Tunnels & Trolls has quite a few solo dungeons.

OP mentioned minis, T&T doesn't use minis. Unless there are some rules I don't know about but would love to?

John, haha it does indeed.

Ganesha does good stuff. I use the SONG OF BLADES AND HEROES system for solo skirmishes. One can link battles into a campaign easily enough. No reason one cannot use a T&T dungeon or such to generate combat and then play the fight out with minis.

5 Leagues is good. It's procedurally generated, like it's sci fi cousin.

These are all good choices. You may also want to check out Iron Sworn or Ironsworn Delve. The Solodark module for Shadowdark is available now too. It all depends on what you want out of the game… Sounds like you are after something more skirmish oriented, rather than an extended campaign?

Bullard, something in between I think. I certainly have the time to do an extended story.

Sword Weirdos

Yeah, I've heard about Sword Weirdos. Does it work for non skirmish adventures?

fgilbert218 Feb 2025 6:26 p.m. PST

I just have skimmed Sword Weirdos so far, so I included it more as an example of a set that includes solo rules. There is a dungeon crawl scenario and some other interesting scenarios.

Nightwatch is good and very much designed to work as a solo game. stalker7.com/nightwatch
