Let's assume that you collect these personality figures, just because.

I have a friend who collects 15mm Napoleon figures.

I myself have 8 different 25/28mm Long John Silver figures. Arrrgh, Lad!

I have 2 different Joseph Brant Mohawk figures, and 2 Maguas. I have 3 Hawkeyes, one admittedly a simple Old Glory FIW Settler who looked the part.

I seem to be collecting 28mm Headless Horseman figures. I got a freebie from Knuckleduster (for a >$100 order), and just found out that RAFM makes one. I added him to a Noble Knight order.

I have a 10mm Richard the First of England.

Hmmm….I have multiple Conans….that happened almost by accident (only almost, because I did have to purchase them, but I didn't really set out to do it….)

I collect mostly old fantasy / sci-fi. The grottier the better. So many little companies lasted only a short while and the ranges are lost like the proverbial tears in the rain.

How many 15mm Napoleon figures are there?

randolph224312 Feb 2025 5:01 a.m. PST

I have a 28 zombie Adolph Hitler. I also have a "normal" Hitler, along with several of his cronies.

Not personality figures per se, but I have a fair amount of witches.

I have a weakness for 28mm clones of movie & TV adventurer figures. Joneses, Quartermains, O'Connells and such wind up on sand/rock bases with a reddish hint and are sent to rob graves on Barsoom. (No one makes either a Matt Carse "Sword of Rhianon" or a Carey "Road to Sinharrat" figure as such.)

Actual Tomb Raiders, Vampire Slayers, Brides, Agents of BPRD and such--including a heavily-armed racoon--are given my usual gray/black rubble base and inhabit my Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy. I should probably repaint one of the Tomb Raider bases. It's those green shorts where everyone else would pass in a "Space 1889" game.

Hitler in 20mm and 25.

In 28mm – 2 Rambos, Dutch's whole team, a few Conans, 3 Teddy Rosevelts, Dirty Harry, Boyd Crower, Raylen Givens, The A-team and I'm sure there are more.

I have three musketeers stuff in a couple of different scales

I have various super-hero figures from different companies.

Mostly SuperFigs, but also V&V, Silver Age, etc. I bought a

Rooster Cogburn fig, standing and riding. Fill your hands!!

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP12 Feb 2025 10:59 a.m. PST

I,too, have 3 musketeers in two scales. Then there is my Robert Jordan figure from the SCW and !/2 dozen Prince Ruperts in both 15mm and 28mm.

I have a lot of Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Emperor figures in multiple scales. Pretty soon I will have one model for each actual Emperor from history.

Somehow I've ended up with several damaged X-wing fighters that I want to believe that I will fix (mostly by making new canopies) and paint in some interesting camouflage scheme.

They're in different scales, of course.

I don't even run games in the Star Wars universe, but I could use the X-wings in Traveller.

rustymusket12 Feb 2025 12:18 p.m. PST

None. Once in a while I think of just collecting and painting generals figs that I like (ie.Archduke Charles, George Washington, Napoleon) but I don't and I suspect I won't. If you enjoy what you collect, that is all that matters. You are good enough, you are smart enough, and doggone it people like you!

dmclellan12 Feb 2025 8:17 p.m. PST

Shagnasty, you're forgetting all those minis that you have that resemble you in many different eras. :)

For what it's worth, I have more WWII Furatakas than the Japanese Navy built. This comes from placing orders for the ships in their original configuration but getting the rebuilt version instead. Sometimes its my fault, sometimes not. Does this make me a collector of Furataka heavy cruisers?

Just as much as I am a collector of Maguas and Long John Silvers.

So far, I'm only aware of one 28mm Willie Nelson.

I don't have that one yet, so there's still time.

Back around 1982, Grenadier produced an Undead Pizza Delivery Man figure. At the time, one of my friends bought one because he liked it so much. It was never painted, never used, it was just a fun piece to show and talk about. Would love to see one painted up, though. Cheers!

Two figures holding a skull.
I imagine the skull is Hamlet's pal Yorick.
One skull is smaller than the other so it's Yorick's skull when a boy.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP13 Feb 2025 5:52 p.m. PST

Good call, Virtualscratchbuilder. I've a weakness for Dwarves myself, and have had real trouble in retirement trying to herd them up into wargame-size units.

Personal logo piper909 Supporting Member of TMP13 Feb 2025 9:20 p.m. PST

Hmmm. I like the old pumpkin-headed bugbears by Archive (I think it was Citadel that made some "Jackobears" looking similar, for Runequest gamers). I found some Hitlers and a Mussolini and a Winston Churchill as target objectives for WWII skirmish or espionage games.

Apart from that -- I have multiple Bonnie Prince Charlies; Joan of Arcs; I've Hero Forged some oddball things like Oompah-Loompahs, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, La of Opar, Tornado Girl, Zatanna Zatara, Captain Ron, Jack Burton; Weeping Angels from Doctor WHO that I intend to use in games yet TBD; tons of Heroclix (repainted) for stock superheroes plus modifications for those not otherwise available; WATCHMEN villains; Santa Claus; bagpipers; and Jennifer Connelly from the Labyrinth movie boardgame!

jgawne15 Feb 2025 8:51 a.m. PST

A lot of weird ones that just catch my eye, but the line I collected was 'Valley of the four winds' which had some very odd and interesting figures.

3 Draculas and 4 sets of the 3 Brides (among piles of general vampires).

I haven't collected Conans per se, but I have kitbashed a bunch of them to make a different Conan stand to go with each HotT Hyborean army. Before the battle, each side has to roll to see who gets to field their Conan.

Personal logo Virtualscratchbuilder Supporting Member of TMP Fezian15 Feb 2025 5:28 p.m. PST

Jgawne, I remember those. The swamp men were really cool!

Personal logo piper909 Supporting Member of TMP15 Feb 2025 10:16 p.m. PST

Zed the Exterminator from ZARDOZ! Sean Connery in a red diaper! How could I neglect that one? I forget who made those for a while, some years ago. Lon Weiss from Brigade games?

cavcrazy16 Feb 2025 10:50 a.m. PST

I have 6 George Armstrong Custer figures on foot, and 5 on horseback.

The Archive bugbears in original pack, referred to above:

And a similar figure, one of the "Jackobears" from Runequest I believe. Citadel Miniatures?

Personal logo piper909 Supporting Member of TMP17 Feb 2025 10:55 a.m. PST

Davy Crocketts. I must have six of those in 25mm from various companies, some sold as Crockett, some generically. Plus several in 54mm or larger scale.

TimePortal17 Feb 2025 4:24 p.m. PST

I had a large 15mm Napoleonics by Heritage/ Empire.

Oh I forgot Sherlock Holmes'

Dagwood19 Feb 2025 9:14 a.m. PST

I have a small number of vignettes, Caesar and Vercingetorix, Achilles and, er, the other one. Several Flashmans, all different, and two Bromheads, one realistic and one film version. Mostly free from MI subscriptions, and all unpainted !!
