More Anubis photos.

I have only one set of these, but they would make the perfect basis for an Anubis army, which I am not building but would be kinda cool.

They will be used for perhaps Stargate type figures, or maybe cultists.

Mike, I am building an army of these figures for my fantasy war games. Maybe this photo will give you some inspiration -- either what painting style you might want, or more likely, what painting style you want to avoid…

The figures are 29mm tall, per The Plastic Soldier Review website's page on them. Great photos of them on PSR

I painted them all in black, then I applied a blue Magic Wash. I really like the copper armor and weapons. Apply a black wash to their weapons, and maybe to their white clothes, for the folds. My army is not yet finished. The figures in the photo were a prototype, to see how I liked the look.

The blue wash turned out pretty well, IMO. Just not sure about a black wash over the white clothing, yet. I thought about a green wash over the copper weapons and armor, but that would give them a tarnished look that I want to avoid. Cheers!

They look well molded.

They would work as Vargr for Traveller, especially at 29mm with modern heroic 32-35mm humans.

That makes them a little too tall for my 25 and 28mm Traveller and Traveller-compatible miniatures, but I can work around that. Their dress and weapons suggest that they are not members of the mainstream interstellar community anyway, so maybe they are a separate population, or maybe the Cult of Anubis only recruits tall cultists.

Here's someone else's approach:

Pretty much all the Dark Alliance figures are excellent, these are in the "sometimes soon" painting pile…I was planning to use for Dragon Rampant or Of Gods And Mortals or Broken Legions…..

…actually think I can base individually and then use movement trays where needed so should be good for all three!

You could fight the war at the beginning of the "Mummy Returns" with the Scorpion King and his army of Anubis.

All good ideas.
