Frustrated with the expense of 1/72 aircraft models I took a stab at scaling up some of the available free 3d STL files I found on the internet. Coming from a scale-modeler background the results would be considered primitive at best. Looking at thing through a wargamer's lens they are most satisfactory; cheap, sturdy, and readily available. They certainly can't compare to proper models but they are more than adequate for my purposes as a gamer. More pics here link and a look at the raw print here link

Try Rare-Plane Detective. His prices are usually way lower, but the selection is random. He buys collections and resells. He's been doing it for decades and has a B&M store in S. Cal.
He'll start sending you his monthly catalog once you buy from him.
This link may work for the January catalog:

Here's his online store:

I've bought a fair number of toys from him and always fair and honest!

Looks great! I completely agree about 3D printing. Projects I could never have considered before printers are now a no-brainer! I can add to my old 25mm ranges and terrain is even more open to an almost limitless choice of items!

Thanks.

John

d88mm1940, Thanks for the tip, I have sent many dollars to Rare Plane Detective over the years as well as Mustang Hobbies mustang-hobbies.com who is a trustworthy trader too. Then there is the rabbit-hole of Ebay….

Nice job, for a moment I thought you printed an Australian Wirraway.

MG Lawson, I have a file for one in the queue. It will have to wait a bit while I finish my China project. Another advantage of STL files is that you can print them at your leisure unlike antique models that you have to grab when you find one.
