I knew that five members of the Pringle clan fell at Flodden in 1513. Until this week, I didn't know about another illustrious fighting Pringle (presumably a distant relative) who served under Wellington 300 years later. I had the privilege of taking General William Pringle's part in a game of the Battle of the Pyrenees (1813). This was a very different game from the usual Napoleonics line-out.
