So it turned out that many of the guys in our club have kickstarted HOBGOBLIN, the mass fantasy game by Mike "Gaslands" Hutchinson. So many of us had rulebooks and the card deck thing, so we figured why not, let's take it out for a spin tonight.

Verdict: It's a good time, and a pretty bog standard maneuvering game with a thick fantasy veneer. We all liked it.

Here's a blog post of our first AAR for Hobgoblin from tonight's game: link

Thanks for your time, and thanks for your attention

Are your bases 120x60mm?

"That good, hey?"

I like it. I really like the setting. I like the the games' figure agnostic approach. Once you figure out his odd terminology for big standard mechanics, it becomes a pretty easy game.

"Nowt wrong with Oathmark in my book"

Nor mine, neither. I made a big jump into Oathmark and still have all my troops for it. It's just one of those things, if everyone isn't on board it rarely sees the table. There's a similar rule set out there that we'll never play again because a player had a game where his troops never activated due to the activation rules. These things happen.

"Are your bases…".

No idea. Another player provided them. He found a great deal on standard sized wooden rectangle shapes at a craft store, so we used those. I may be wrong but I recall the rule book being vague about base sizing.

Looks great. Are the figures 40mm or 28mm. They look big.
