Three Shermans for my 14th Army force for Burma. These are all PSC plastic kits from their 1/72 M4A4 set. I've added a few details like stowage and aerials; drilled out barrels and lifting hooks; replaced the bow MGs, and, used decals from District Miniatures for Indian Armoured Brigades. The crew are all from AB Figures.

Lovely finish as ever, but I went to look for more on the blog but couldn't find them. Is there a Burma campaign in the offing? My learning campaign takes another step forward tomorrow after a longish break for the festive season and messing about with terrain. |

I just love that extra touch, the chipped armour plating. I presume the result of facing small arms fire. Also the work that went into hollowing out the lifting rings. I know from personal experience that doing that for the hull rings is OK, but for the turret rings, nerve-wracking. I found a useful guide to Indian Armoured units' markings operating in Burma; PDF link telling me these are from 255th Indian Tank Brigade, 116th RAC (9th Gordon Highlanders)….obviously you will all say! |

Beautiful! I'd love to know what paint you are using, I can't quite get my shades of green right, and nowhere near as good as those |

Beautiful! I'd love to know what paint you are using, I can't quite get my shades of green right, and nowhere near as good as those. Thanks. It's a combination of paints. Base colours are Tamiya Olive Drab mixed with Dark Yellow at 2:1 and shot through an airbrush. Colour modulation done with progressively lighter shades. I've added some filters using oils and dust using pigments. |

Very nice work indeed. There is a real ‘feel' of the period with your work. Best wishes, Chris |
