Finished work on these today. The caissons were from the late Schilling Miniatures, donated to us, with so much else, by Thomas Mischak. We could not import to the UK post Brexit! The limbers are from Newline, with bigger wheels. The horses are largely the same, but there are a few Austrian harnessed ones from HaT (no excuse, just spares). The drivers have had their legs lengthened and largely concealed on the right by the leg protector. Like all Newline they were a bit on the short side, but beautiful castings. The dismounted drivers are Italeri gunners, but work better as drivers with their coat tails and turnbacks. There are two of the original Airfix crew, with Italeri heads also. The two mounted gunners are an experiment combining the same heads with Prussian Uhlan lancer bodies! The horses will be bays eventually of course

Impressive work as always . The conversions are always of interest . You might like to look at Mr Kanes sculpts, which include RHA teams. I have been using his excellent Prussian teams with the limbers converted to the Austrian style with the Hat cavalry artillery box and corse hut heads on the drivers. At nine pounds per team including ropes etc they are good value. Incidentally, I believe the Schilling decision, post Brexit was theirs. Hagen and Franznap as examples have no problem supplying to the U.K. and their service is excellent. Just be aware of the produce value limits to avoid custom tariffs. Best wishes, Chris |

Thanks. Absolutely right about Schilling. There is a level of bureaucracy which meant they would ship to the remotest Pacific islands, on their drop down menu, but not to the UK. Yes, duty is a minefield. Gifts over £30.00 GBP and purchases over £100.00 GBP was it? Something like that I learnt here recnetly. Love to see some photos of your artillery train, esp if any conversion work |

Hi. It was me. To clarify. Duties depend on how you have shipped the items a what value they are. Goods that have a value below £39.00 GBP GBP will be duty and tax free. Goods between £40.00 GBP GBP a d £135.00 GBP GBP will be duty free but subject to VAT @ 29% for most goods. Goods over £135.00 GBP GBP will be charged duty and VAT . HMRC do not normally directly contact importers for the taxes. If any taxes are due and the goods have been sent by post then the post service will contact the receiver and ask them / someone to pay online . Who pays does not matter. If the goods have come by fast parcel courier then it depends on what was arranged when you dispatched the goods. Again they will usually contact the recipient for payment. This seems Worldwide and not restricted to European purchase. I have not posted the gun teams yet but they will appear on the Aspern Essling posting as I update it. I use conversions a lot as they enhance the ‘look' of my battle scenes on the re fights. Antietam and Quatre Bras are cases in point. The Westphalia cavalry guns, ( now available through Franznap) are excellent along with their A frame limbers. The French artillery stuff is good too. Best wishes, Chris |

Great models! The machinations of the post-Brexit EU are well above my pay grade – locally there has been a call for Canada to join the EU, which does seem to fly in the face of the fact that Canada is not in Europe – although, fun fact, we do share a border with a European country – in the Arctic, Canada and Denmark share a border on Hans Island |

A very beautiful and impressive job with your artillery. The EU bureaucrats are in a snit and punishing the UK. Even folks in the EU are finally getting fed up with their machinations. |
