Here in my corner of the USA, the Party City chain is going out of business. Things are marked down 20% to 75%. I didn't see any of the "gold" coins I've purchased in the past for my Viking games. They did have various hats including some that would inspire people playing gangster games. They also had packages of Chinese made copies of the old Airfix 54 mm British paratroopers in TMP blue and a rather bright green. Unlike many of the copies I've seen, these were well cast, without caved in chests or lots of flash. It's a sale of whatever merchandise is left, so you may find different things at your local store. The sale is supposed to run to the end of February. Grelber |

Thanks. Worth a look. There's one just a few miles from my home. |

Thanks for the tip. I never shopped there much, but I think it's a bummer. Also, JoAnn's stores are filing for bankruptcy and I almost always saw something there that could make useful gaming props. Now I'm nostalgic for the old Winn's (Five and Dime) stores. And nostalgia is a hell of a drug. |

naw, Nostalgia is not what it used to be…… When I were a lad, two bob would you buy you an Airfix Spitfire Mk IX with JEJ markings.Couple of quid now on eBay but, if you have it unopened with the card topping….nice one! Kids these days….no idea. |

Bought a very nice "Royal" crown from Party City just before Christmas— made of actual metal with a nice "velvet" inner cap, for next to nothing. Now I know why! Hadn't thought of them as a resource for gaming stuff. I was just over that way today, but didn't go in (if they're even still open…) |

Just a note for Canadians. In Canada, "Party City" is owned by Canadian Tire and they announced all stores will remain open as usual. |

The 54s are 100 figs for about $4.00 USD. They are made out of a hard plastic, so you will find some figures with their rifle barrels broken off. |

Hard plastic should take paint well. Maybe I can get out to Party City this afternoon -- and Joann's, another great resource. |
