Home from Cancon and put together a blog post on the Saipan scenario for Chain of Command that I designed and ran as a participation game at the show. The post covers the various pieces I put together to make it happen. A bit about terrain, but also a bit about the scenario research and design and how it played out over the show. Great AAR and report – and another shout out for 20mm WWII gaming – you don't see many Japanese tanks on the tabletop, nicely done!

Brilliant stuff. One of my most visited blogs, truly inspiring stuff. Although I have other scales as well for WW2 20mm just feels and looks right.

TacticalPainter0131 Jan 2025 12:57 a.m. PST

Thanks everyone. I play different periods in different scales, but agree with some of the posters here – 20mm hits a particular sweet spot for the Second World War for me too.

20mm sweetspot or not, that is a sweet looking game.

Superb work as always.

The sea colour brings back memories of diving the Japanese wrecks in Truk .

Best wishes,

Chris
