While reading a book on the 17th Airborne, the chapter on the Battle of the Bulge contained this fascinating tidbit, I thought would make a great scenario:

"… one night, mysterious flashing lights were observed in the wooded hills in the area of the 193rd GIR… Several patrols were immediately sent out to find them, but nothing! Not the slightest sign of an enemy presence! In the end, it turned out the observed "flashes" were due to the moonlight reflections on the aluminum strips which had been dropped earlier by Allied bombers, in order to confuse the German radars, and thus to outwit the anti-aircraft batteries."

That's the official report that went up to battalion but not what the men in the squads that were deployed said to their buddies in the rest of the company.

Take a look at comic book called the Lost Brigade. Excellent, WW2 soldiers get pulled into a fight between good and evil. There are angels and demons ect. Really good and would make an excellent skirmish game.

Or something along the lines of DUST…..

Maybe refueling Ops (of special fuels/an energy source, etc.).

Or……maybe spotlights from off of some strange new weapons, moving out through those trees at night…….(possible game angle – w/experimental night-view emitters).

I worked up a collection for a Bulge-setting "Winter DUSTING" scenario before the Pandemic – need to get that stuff back on the board again….
