Well some things never change, and that is well represented, but we had invented metal and even plastic in the 1990s and wooden buckets were not in use any more. And Sargonarhes is right about 1950, at least the hair styling.

Apparently the part of Texas you are from is way more posh than the part of Appalachia that I am from.

I haven't seen a wooden bucket used to hold beer and ice in a very long time, but I have seen wooden buckets holding towels near hot tubs and pools very recently.
