Not as yet. Have the rules— got ‘em last year as a freebie. Might never play them, but I like seeing how different designers approach things. |

I've played it once. I could be tempted to play it again. I do have some 25mm Hinchcliffe Vikings with battle axes that haven't seen a gaming table since medieval times. |

I've played it a few times. I do not care for it. |

Yes, once at a convention. It was fun. But not enough to get me to buy into it. |

*Not any more I used to play it a lot in 1st ed, carried on into 2nd ed but now I just can't be bothered with it. The special dice are clever but players (including myself) tend to rely on a few special abilities so games always end up feeling the same. And becuase the manipulation of the dice/boards is so central to the game, in my experience this comes at the expense of narrative. I know people who still play but I tend not to join them. For me Lion Rampant is much more enjoyable. All IMO and YMMV, of course. |

V1 once or twice wayback when someone else was running it at the store. Then they stopped. |

No but I know people who play regularly. |

I see very few groups as I go to shows in the Southern USA. I stock only a few packs and box sets. No problem selling them. |
Old Contemptible | 26 Jan 2025 3:31 a.m. PST |
No, but they use to play it before I moved here. Don't know why they stopped playing the rules. |

Not any more It was in heavy rotation for a while and then got all seen it been there done that so we moved on. |
FusilierDan | 26 Jan 2025 6:21 a.m. PST |
Not any more. We tried a campaign but other things got in the way. I thought it was an okay system but no one else was overly excited about it so we moved to something else. |

No, never had the chance so don't even know if I'd enjoy these rules or not. The trend here seems to weigh against them. |

I've played it twice. I've got a 4pt warband waiting for it to take off locally again. |

Often. It's a very nice system, and the Battleboards give each different faction its own character. Works well for Dark Age, Crusades, Late Roman, and Hannibal and Alexander. Not yet tried Age of Chivalry but I'm sure that will be fun as well |
DeRuyter | 27 Jan 2025 11:25 a.m. PST |
Not anymore. Played often and ran a campaign with the 1st Ed. Never really picked up the 2d and then Lion Rampant came along… Age of Chivalry looks interesting, but my group is sticking to LR and building armies for Blood & Crowns |
jefritrout | 27 Jan 2025 3:19 p.m. PST |
I have a game in about 40 minutes. |
Joe Legan | 27 Jan 2025 5:43 p.m. PST |
Yes. It is my favorite ancient/medieval system. Once you view it as a game it is tremendous fun! Robert, you don't need the special dice but they are cool. Joe |
Martian Root Canal | 29 Jan 2025 10:13 a.m. PST |
Yes, sometimes. It's a great game for Dark Ages and Crusades. It doesn't work so well for Ancients – it doesn't feel right for the types of armies. I wanted to like Age of Magic, but the 'theme' approach – which sounded so promising – leads to some really imbalanced forces. My group gave up on it. |
Blackhorse MP | 29 Jan 2025 12:47 p.m. PST |
Nope. Can't see the allure of ancient skirmish games. For me ancient games should be army level. |
Deucey | 08 Feb 2025 6:32 p.m. PST |
Twice. It's too far on the "gamey" side for me. Plus I find it annoying that it claims to be a skirmish game, yet has shield walls, elephants, and even pike formations. It is popular though. |
