I am going to run a castle siege game at one of my local conventions in February. I have a foam castle that covers over 6 feet or 2 meters. I have loads of Deetail Crusaders and "Turks", 3 siege towers and 2 trebuchets. I had planned to use the Andy Callan rules in the Paperboys Castle Assault book, but I would like to keep the figures on separate bases, to better deal with the assault towers and rampart walkways. I am considering Lion Rampant, but I am wondering if there are any other simple Ancient/Medieval rules out there that suit 54mm miniatures.

There will be between 6 and 8 players total.

Thanks,
Nick Stern

Nick,
As I recall, the Tactica Medieval Rules included skirmish level rules aimed at just that, a castle siege.

Thanks Nick. I think I have a copy.

There was a Lion Rampart module in one of the wargaming mags for sieges….I'll see if I can get more deets for oyu.

Lion Rampant 2e actually works quite well for castle assaults

Extra Crispy, I found the WI issue. It's August 2017. Thanks for the reminder!

For something really simple, try the Gold Crown rules from Helen of Toy. They're pretty much AI for solo players. And you'll need a spinner… ;-)
