I'd never heard of this modification. Quite interesting. Does somebody actually make this model, or did you have to do lots of conversion work?

Not sure about who makes a model but there's some details on the BARV in the Haynes manual on the Sherman tank.

Haynes are a UK publisher that originally made owner manuals for cars. They made a manual for the Sherman a few years back and it covers just about every version of the Sherman, including the BARV.

Well worth having on your bookshelf 😊.

@Grelber, We discover it since preparing Our D-Day Project!
We bought it on ETSY: link … hope the link is OK!

The Haynes manual is invaluable. I got mine at about one quarter of the asking price, from our Tank Museum in Dorset.

I never knew the BARV was in grey! Thank God I never tried to make one in 1/72 although often tempted.

I think I have about 17-18 Sherman variants, with only about 40-50 to go. In everything then from Cuban 1959, to French 1944, to an inflatable dummy.

There's a Sherman BARV in the D-Day Museum in Southsea.

#Deadhead We was also surprised by the Navy grey paint…
