Hi All, Can anyone help me find the company that makes a small range of 28 mil scale bugbears? I saw them a couple years ago in a short review in one of the big three wargaming magazines. But I can't remember who made them. They're styled after the art in TSR AD&D books and modules from the late 70s and early 80s. They're not the early Otherworld minis. Nor are they the current Crooked Dice figs. Any goto will be much appreciated. Thanks, Legion |

WizKids made many monsters which looked like designs from the first monster manual. Usually as sets of about a half dozen, one of each kind. Give that a try. |

Thanks for your suggestions, friends. But none of them are the ones I'm looking for. The figs I'm after look a lot like the four currently offered by Crooked Dice, long and lanky, with close fur and stand-out pointy ears. They're metal. And I'm pretty sure the manufacturer is in the UK. I think they're a small -- and maybe fairly new -- producer. |

I am happy to still have a goodly number of old Archive bugbears -- with pumpkin heads!! That's totally old school TSR D&D! |

I have some from the 1970-80 in my collection. I believe they were produced by Grenadier. Look very much like the picture on page 12 of the 1978 Monster Manual. |

Yes, that would be Grenadier. First edition AD&D-style. |

In the original Monster Manuals, the Bug Bears looked like shaggy Chewbacca-Esque figures with pumpkin (Jack-O-Lantern) heads. You can still get them from Alternative Armies, where they are just called "Halloween Goblin." These are casts from the old Asgard line. I bought a few. Very nice figures! link |
