The entries below are aimed at pulling together links to downloadable material on the Mecklenburg Military. My sincere thanks to the Napoleon Series Forum (in particular Steve H. Smith, John (Jack) H. Gill, George Nafziger & many, many others) and Markus Stein & colleagues (Napoleon Online). As with previous contributions this is not exhaustive but should give those who have an interest in the Mecklenburg Military good access to a fair range of material – unfortunately not all unit histories are available, viewable, or downloadable.

Where possible I have inserted direct download links but unfortunately, I have not been able to achieve this for all entries.

Please note for some items, non-US inhabitants will need to use a VPN to gain access. If you do not have access to fast internet, you should think very carefully whether to attempt to try and download any items where multiple volumes can be downloaded in one go or where I have indicated either a big or large download. I may add to this list if and when I find other suitable material.

Thank you so much.

I tried to access the title "Die Mecklenburger 1812 im russischen Feldzuge" through the provided link, but the following message appears:
"This item is not available online — Limited – search only — due to copyright restrictions."
Any ideas on how to access this book?

Velite29 Mar 2025 8:21 a.m. PST

I would suggest also the following diary of the 1812 campaign:

TAGE-BUCH des Feldzugs nach Russland im Jahre 1812 von CARL V. STEIN

@Velite,

In my initial post I said "Please note for some items, non-US inhabitants will need to use a VPN to gain access.". This is one such item where you will need to use a VPN to simulate that you are in the US to see the actual text.

Once done, unfortunately, you will be able to download only 1 page at a time (probably up to maximum of 20 pages – sometimes a few more – in one sitting but if you change your VPN entry point e.g. from New York to Denver etc you get another go etc.) There are 149 pages in total.

Also thanks for the diary entry – it is always useful to add more material.
All the best

Ian
