I seem to be coming across some very hard to obtain books recently, that is, printed versions anyway. One of them goes by the title A MARINE OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD by Pierre de Baste and Tim Mahon. Published by Nimble books? However, the reviews have been pretty bad, such as being described as the text is in English but in fact arrived in another language. Some reviews also mentioned the books were in a bad condition and contact with the publishers was hard, if not impossible to obtain, as were refunds. I wondered if anyone had heard of this book or seen copies of it?

@ Gazzola,

You might be interested to see "Recollections of capitaine de fregate Pierre Baste" by Tim Mahon which was posted on the Napoleon Series website link

The original French is in "Collection des mémoires relatifs aux révolutions d'Espagne, Volume 2" by Alphonse de Beauchamp, L.G. Michaud, 1824 link

Volume 1 has Vedel's account link
All the best

Many thanks for that. I did actually see the short article on the Napoleon Series website (in English) this morning but I've been unable to find anything describing what the actual book contains, such as maps, orders of battle etc. I tried emailing the book publishers, without success and there are no reviews on the title in Amazon or anywhere else selling the ebook or printed version. It is only a short book, in terms of number of pages, 82 I think, so not sure if it will actually offer that much anyway. Thanks again for your help and links, much appreciated.

Interestingly, the reviews I was able to find the other day, seem to have disappeared? The mystery continues!
